Martha (Muffy) Sogla, age 82, of Lake City died Thursday morning at the Lake City Nursing Home. Martha was born December 31, 1924 in Plainview, Minnesota to Harmon & Lula (Haessig) Herron. Martha graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City and attended Winona Business College for one year. She married Clifford Sogla August 16, 1947 in Lake City. She worked as Secretary and Bookkeeper at General Electric in Minneapolis, O?Neil & Irwin Inc., Merit Export and River Oaks Nursing Home. Clifford, her husband, died August 7th, 2000. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lake City, MS Society, Camp Fire Girls, a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts and the Lake City VFW Auxiliary. She also volunteered as a reading teacher in Harlingen when she and Clifford wintered in Texas. Martha enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, golfing, bowling, and dancing. She is survived by one son, Dale (Cindy) of Lake City; five daughters, Kaye (Rich) Link of Hutchinson, MN, Marlys Cunningham of Hager City, WI, Jane Lewis of Red Wing, Sonda (Jon) Featherstone of Lake City, Nancy (Brad) Rigelman of Lake City; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Krueger of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers Milton & Glen Herron. A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Darren Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. Memorials are preferd to First Lutheran Church or the Lake City Nursing Home.
