Martha Skyberg

Martha Marie Skyberg, 71, of Red Wing, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at her home. She was born on May 3, 1936, in Madison, Minnesota, to Robert and Margaret (Lindberg) Stultz. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1954 and then from the University of Minnesota, receiving a dental hygienist degree. On December 28, 1957, she married Rolf Skyberg at the Congregational Church in Cannon Falls. They lived in Great Falls, Montana for two years while he served in the US Air Force. They moved to Red Wing in 1962. In 1977 she founded the Uff Da Shop and enjoyed working there until retiring in 2005. Rolf died on December 9, 1987. She was a member of United Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and played in the bell choir, Red Wing Noontime Kiwanis, Red Wing Art History Club, AA, Red Wing League of Women Voters, Red Wing Golf Club, Red Wing Arts Association, Sons of Norway, Friends of the Sheldon Theatre and the Norwest Bank board. She enjoyed being with family and friends, boating, traveling, playing golf, reading, playing piano and listening to classical music and her church. She enjoyed being with children, especially her three grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Arne (Sara) Skyberg of Red Wing and Jon (Jodie) Skyberg of Lakeville; three grandchildren, Rolf, Olivia and Sophia Skyberg all of Lakeville; one sister, Anne (Richard) Crooks of Minneapolis; one brother, Robert (Kathleen) Stultz of Seattle, Washington and one brother-in-law, Raymond Knutson of Spooner, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Sara Knutson.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Randall Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the Kiwanis Foundation or United Lutheran Church.
