Martha Jane Funk

Martha Jane Funk of Esdaile, left her earthly home on Saturday, August 24th, surrounded by her family. Born Martha Jane Harding, the 7th child of Everett Jesse Harding and Juliette Dot Tyler Harding on September 21, 1920. Jane attended the Bay City school, across the street from her home. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1938 and attended River Falls Normal School. She meet Arthur Funk while attending weekly dances at the Bay City Ballroom and they married on September 23, 1939. Together they raised 6 children and operated the family businesses. Jane's focus was on her children and her love of painting. She greatly enjoyed her class time under the instruction of Rose Jacques and won several ribbons at the fair. Jane was a member of the Bay City Methodist Church, Esdaile Friendship Club, a Sunday School teacher and 4-H Leader for 26 years.
Jane is survived by her children: Steve (Maureen) Funk, and Conrad (Mary) Funk, Bay City,WI, Mitzi (Lee) Holmes, Irvine, CA, Laurel Mason, Esdaile, WI, Marthene (Bruce) Bang, Red Wing, MN and Raynee (Tom) Farrell, Esdaile, WI. Grandchildren: Rob Funk, Tracy Koch, Katie Beck, Rachel Johnson, Kurt Funk, Alisa Holmes, Christine Holmes, Lesley Holmes, Matt Mason, Shawn Bang, Bjorn Bang, Kyle Farrell, Corey Farrell & Heather Melstrom. " Grandma Great" will be missed by Great Grandchildren Ben, Ellie, Michael, Ashley, Alaina, Kaden, Marshall, Garrett, Zoia, Zeke, Crissy, Travis, Jazamyn, Kennedy, Audrey & Sarah. Jane is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, her parents, three brothers, four sisters, her best friend, Anne Nimerfro.
A Celebration of Life for Jane will be held August 29th at 11:00 AM at the Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Esdaile, with Pastor Mary Eide officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the celebration. A private burial will take place in the evening.
