Marna E. Walker

Marna Eulalie Walker, age 86, of Zumbrota, died on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at her home. She was born on June 27, 1927 in Kenyon, MN to Carl and Adel (Bakken) Bestul. Marna attended country school District 51, and graduated from Kenyon High School in 1945. She was employed as a secretary for the Dennison Elevator until her marriage to Conrad Jacobson on June 15, 1946. Conrad Jacobson died June 10, 1982. She married Gerald Walker in December, 1985. Gerald died January 29, 2002.

Marna was the manager and secretary for the Jacobson Estate all her life and requested that her thanks be sent to all the wonderful renters that have been involved with Jacobson Farms throughout the years and to the present day.

Marna was an active member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. She loved being with her family and friends, playing bridge, golfing and watching the Vikings, Twins and Gophers play. She stayed active traveling, cooking and working in her flower gardens.
She is survived by her son, Conway (Kathy) Jacobson of Zumbrota; her daughter, Gail Butler of Rochester; two granddaughters, Shannon (Terry) Howard of Byron and Angela (Jonathan) Morken of Goodhue; two step-children; five great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and her sister, Miriam Bjelland of Kenyon, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Marna was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Conrad Jacobson and Gerald Walker; one grandson, Cole Conrad Butler; two brothers, Carroll Bestul of Northfield and Lyle Bestul of Northwood IA; and one sister, Estelle Neil of Springdale AR.

The family of Marna wants to express their sincere thank you to the wonderful ladies with the Mayo Hospice - Wabasha who were so dedicated and helpful during this transition.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Susan Vikstrom officiating. Burial will be in the United Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
