Marlys (Tripp) Heise, age 71, entered her heavenly home on February 2, 2012. Her family will lovingly cherish her memory.
Marlys was born on June 14, 1940, in Northfield, Minnesota to Vernon and Elva (Andersen) Tripp. She attended school in Northfield. After graduation she attended Methodist Kahler School of Nursing and trained as a student nurse at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She graduated as a registered nurse in the spring of 1961.
In the fall of 1961, on September 30th, she married Ken Heise from Lake City, MN. They spent their first few years of marriage in Red Wing, MN where Marlys worked as an RN at St. John's Hospital.
In the summer of 1965 Ken and Marlys moved to a farm in Lake City. Marlys continued her nursing career at the Lake City Hospital. Marlys really enjoyed her 50 year career in the nursing field. She was such a caring and loving person to all. The Angels will welcome and praise her arrival.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She very much enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and visiting with friends. She also enjoyed reading.
Marlys is survived by her husband, Ken Heise, her children and grandchildren include Amy and Brad Goodwin - Lindsay, Matthew, Connor, and Brian of Brooten, MN; Paula and Joe Flynn - Joseph and Christopher of Alleman, IA; Michele Heise - Carver of Faribault, MN; Melanie and Robert Hinsch - Nicole, Isaiah, Noah, Samuel of Goodhue, MN ; Tony and Amy Heise - Taylor, Nathan, and Ryan of Lake City, MN.
Her sisters and brothers include Marlene and Odne Stokka of Esterville, IA, Jerry and Barb Tripp of Onalaska, WI, Mike and Pamela Tripp of Morris Township, NJ, and Pat and Mary Tripp of Dundas, MN., and sister-in-law Eunice and Dennis Guentzel of Bozeman, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Elva Tripp; parents-in-law, Vincent and Caroline Heise; and sister-in-law Janell.
A Funeral service will be held Monday, February 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Scott Fiege officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may call one hour before the services at the church.
