Mark Elmer Hovel

Mark Elmer Hovel was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 26, 1953. He was adopted by Elmer and Wynette (Gruhlke) Hovel and lived in Zumbrota his entire life. He passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Rochester, MN.

He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. He graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1972. Mark married Brenda Heydmann in 1974. Together they had one son, they later divorced.

He was employed by several businesses including, Zumbrota Livestock, Doane Grain, and DFA. Favorite pastimes he enjoyed were bowling, golfing, hunting, and fishing.

Mark is survived by his son, Kelly (Kelly A.) Hovel of Zumbrota; two grandchildren, Brody and Brynn Hovel; and one sister, Mary Ann (Tom) Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
