Marjorie Ann Wilson

Funeral services for Marjorie Wilson will be held Wednesday February 19th at 7:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel. Her sons Gordon and Glenn Wilson will officiate, along with other family members. The visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, and burial will occur on Thursday February 20th at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Mrs. Wilson, 83, of Rochester, died Saturday February 15, 2014 at Samaritan Bethany Home on 8th in Rochester.
Marjorie Ann Walker was born October 11, 1930 in Albany, New York to Willard and Florence ‘Adeline' (nee Johnson) Walker. Raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota, she moved to Rochester in 1947 and was graduated from Rochester High School with the Class of 1948. Following high school she worked for her father at Walker-Larson Hardware. She married Arlan Wilson on May 25, 1952 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. She then became a bookkeeper, working for her brother-in-law at Trademart for more than 20 years. In later years she operated a day care until her retirement. She was a frequent contributor to the "letters to the editor" of the Post Bulletin, having submitted more than 100 letters for publication over the years. She was a volunteer for the community of Rochester, and she was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bridge.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Arlan Wilson, of Rochester; seven children, Gordon (Kathleen Hyke) of Sun City, Arizona, Gary (Becky) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gregory (Janice) of Rochester, Grant (Cara) of Rochester, Pamella (Mitch) Miller of Mantorville, Glenn (Tina) of Lexington Park, Maryland, and Geoffrey (Mary Jo) of Rochester; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Robert) Seidlitz, of Elgin; and a sister-in-law, Betty Wilson, of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jean Larson, and Jean's husband, Allen.
If so desired, memorial may be designated to a charity of the donor's choosing.
