Marion Jean Wright, 89, of Red Wing, died Thursday, May 23, 2019, at St. Crispin Living Community. She was born June 19, 1929, in River Falls, Wisconsin, to Ralph and Agnes (Carlson) Finley and graduated from high school in Baldwin, Wisconsin 1947. On June 25, 1949, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Wright at the Norwegian Lutheran Church of Baldwin. They lived in Baldwin until 1961, where her husband managed the Baldwin Clinic. In 1963 they moved to Red Wing, where they owned and operated Ace Hardware Store until 1985. Marion loved working at the store and helping customers. After she left the store, her primary calling was creating a lovely home for her family and grandchildren. She was immensely proud of her family. She enjoyed riding motorcycle, gardening, and reading and she was an excellent cook--when anyone stopped by, they never went hungry. She was loved by everyone she met. Marion was a member of United Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her 3 children, Jack (Nancy) Wright of Burnsville, Jean (Wayne) Miller and Jim (Julie) Wright of Red Wing; 7 grandchildren, Brady (Rachel) and Kerby Miller, Andrew (Michaela), Victor, Eric (Kaylee), Tanner and Jenna Wright; 3 great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Madelynn and Owen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd in 2014 and her brother, Ronald Finley.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Justin Boeding officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Baldwin Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to United Lutheran Church or donor's choice. A special thanks to the staff at St. Crispin's and the Red Wing Mayo Hospice for their compassion and care they provided. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
