Marion G. Lemmerman, age 96 of Lake City formerly of Mazeppa passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Lake City Nursing Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Burial will be in Mazeppa Cemetery Visitation will be Friday, March 3, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marion Gene Kahl was born on November 7, 1920 in Belvidere Township, Goodhue County, MN to Fred and Sophia (nee Siebe) Kahl. She grew up in Bellechester and worked in the grocery store there. On January 22, 1941 she married Donald E. Lemmerman in Bellechester. Together they farmed in rural Mazeppa for thirty five years. In 1976 they moved into Mazeppa and in 2002, Marion moved to Lake City.
Marion was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa, where she enjoyed being in the ladies aid and also enjoyed her improvement club, coffee group, dancing, playing cards, fishing and visiting her family.
Marion is survived by her children, Kathleen (Edward) Yuiska of The Villages, FL., Diane (Edward) Jarchow of Belmont, MI, Tom (Linda) Lemmerman of Mazeppa, Deb (Mark) Mathre of Mazeppa, Judy (Rick) Rice of Duluth and Larry (Loni) Lemmerman of Mazeppa; twenty one grandchildren; thirty two great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters and daughter-in-law, Ruth Lemmerman of Hernondo, FL.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lemmerman Sr.; son, Donald Lemmerman Jr.; sisters, Marjorie Zemke and Verena Wieck; brothers, Willis and Elward Kahl and sister-in-law, Dorine Lemmerman.
