Marilynn Jane Erickson

Marilynn Jane Erickson, 66 a resident of the Red Wing Health Care Center passed away on January 12, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester of cardiac and respiratory complications which she had battled for several years. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Marilynn was born on June 10, 1947 to Archie R. and Harriet M. (Haase) Erickson of Lake City. She attended grade school at Washington School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. She lived most of her life in Rochester, was employed by Electro Assemblies in Rochester for years and was a devoted worker. She enjoyed her cats and dogs, music, knitting, word search puzzles and spending time with her family. She was known for her sense of humor.
Marilynn was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Lake City where she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. Currently she is a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rochester.
Marilynn is survived by her sisters, Sally (Dwayne) Howe of Red Wing, Sandra (Dale) Lemmerman of Wyoming, MN and Susan (Paul) Trcka of Rochester; nieces, Fran (Dwight) Young of Red Wing, Alexa and Sydni Fryer both of Rochester; nephew, Michael Henry of Minneapolis; great-nieces, Lindsay Bechel of Red Wing and Kaitlen Young and her finance' Blake Johnson of Maplewood; great-nephews, Samuel (Camilla) Henry of Coon Rapids and Isaiah Henry of Minneapolis; great-great niece Angelina Henry of Coon Rapids; great-great nephews, Austin Bechel, Logan Bechel and Landyn Montgomery of Red Wing along with many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Harriet Erickson and many aunts and uncles.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City with the Rev. Chris Brekke, officiating. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service, interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City and a lunch will be held at the funeral home following the service.
In lieu of flowers, Marilynn requested memorials be directed to The Paws and Claws Humane Society at 3224 19th St. NW, Rochester, MN 55901, or 507-288-7226 or www.pawsandclaws.org.
