Marilyn Joan Molberg

April 1, 1929 — December 8, 2013

Marilyn Joan Molberg, 84, of Red Wing died December 8, 2013 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born April 1, 1929 in Lund, Wis. to Emil and Helen (Larson) Maxe. She moved to Red Wing when she was in the first grade. In 1947 she graduated from Red Wing Central High School. She then worked for Red Wing Loan and Investment Company. On December 2, 1950 she married Rev. Robert J. Molberg. She assisted in his ministry at the Apostolic Gospel Church in Red Wing, where she was also a member, by serving as the church pianist and secretary. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She loved reading and swimming and was an exceptionally hard worker. She also enjoyed fishing, spending time at the cabin and camping. She was active in the PTA and did clerical work for the Area Wide Ministerial Association. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Rev. Robert J. Molberg of Red Wing; two children, James T. (Kathleen) Molberg of Pine City and Patti S. Bushnell of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Stephanie Molberg of Inver Grove Heights, Emily (Dustin) Brantford of Chaska, Robert A. Molberg of Prior Lake, Jared Molberg of Pine City, Lydia Molberg of Pine City, Camilla (Sean) Lathrop of Red Wing and Nathaniel Bushnell of Prior Lake; great-grandchildren, Charli Brantford, Christian and Brennan Bolger, Derrek, Hunter, Jeremy and Mason Lathrop; one sister, Yvonne (Harlan) Hanson of Red Wing, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Eldon R. Maxe.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at New River Assembly of God Church. Burial will take place in the spring at Lund Covenant Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred to Tupelo Children's Mansion (PO Box 167 Tupelo, MS 38802).
