Marilyn Josephson

Marilyn Jean Josephson, 81, of Red Wing, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at her home. She was born on June 6, 1931, in Watertown, SD to Garrett and Jennie (Koyman) Sikkink. She graduated in 1949 from Watertown High School. She then attended Hamline University in St. Paul. On September 3, 1950 she married Thomas Josephson in Watertown. They moved to Red Wing in 1950 where they owned and operated Josephson's Clothing Store. She also worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Billings and Dr. Rayner. Thomas died on November 1, 2008. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the PEO Sisterhood Chapter ET. She also volunteered for Fairview Red Wing Hospice. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include three children, Ronald (Jeanne) Josephson of Juneau, Alaska, Roy Josephson of Haines, Alaska and Mary Ann Josephson of St. Paul; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and the Brad Kimball family. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Martha; one grandson, Aaron; one sister, Genevieve Wubbels and three brothers, Milo, Virgil and Garrett Sikkink.

Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Strunk officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
