Marilyn Ella White Dow, 74, of Welch, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at her home. She was born November 2, 1939, in Welch, to Elsie and Martin White. She attended Pipestone Boarding School and Red Wing schools. In 1957, she was united in marriage to Lester Dow. Marilyn worked at Smead and Hudson Manufacturing Companies, both in Hastings, Parmlee Plastics in Kansas City, Missouri and at Treasure Island Resort and Casino. She was an avid bingo player and she enjoyed gospel and country music, as well as playing with her great-grandchildren and watching game shows.

She is survived by her son, John Dow of Welch; adopted daughter, Iris Rice of Nebraska; adopted son, Tyler Rowan of Red Wing; 4 grandchildren, Daniel Dow of Welch, Justin (Jerica) Dow of Goodhue, Christopher (Emily) Dow of Red Wing and Darren Childs of Welch; siblings, Cheryl White, Vivian Mireau and Byron White and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was Godmother to Kerrie Grimes, Audrey Bennett and Darrel Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Martin, Justin, Darren and Lester, Jr.; adopted son, Charles Rice; sisters, Marjorie and Elissa White; brothers, Arthur, Willis and James White and a baby sister, Victoria White.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Prairie Island Community Center. Visitation will begin Thursday evening at the Community Center and will continue until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Church of Messiah Cemetery.
