Marie E. Wiech age 93 of Lake City passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Lake City Nursing Home.
Marie was born March 14, 1915 in Maiden Rock, WI to George & Eva (Fasbender) Hageman. She attended school at McCahill School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. She then attended school in Winona where she received her teaching degree. From 1923 to 1938 Marie lived and helped with the family dairy farm (Central Point Dairy). The Lake City Medical Center is now located on a portion of the farm. After she received her teaching degree she taught school in rural Lake City for 7 years. Marie married Victor Wiech June 8, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City. She worked at the Lakeview Bakery for 32 years until retiring when she was 85 years old. Marie was a member of St. Mary of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake City. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and all of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Victor, two daughters, Marilyn (Cortlen) Hauge of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Marjorie (Jerry) Dunbar of Lake City; five sons, Charles of Frenchtown, MT, Raymond of Lake City, Steven (Brenda) of Mazeppa, MN, Vernon (Norma) of Rock Island, IL, Eugene (Bonnie) of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Ione) Hageman of Bovey, MN; sister, Helen Olson of Robbinsdale, MN. She was preceded in death by three sister, Gertrude Erickson, Eva Hendrichs, Catherine Theismann; six brothers, George, Edward, Leo, Lawrence, Cyril, Charles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 8, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11:00 am with Father Richard Dernek officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 at the Mahn Family funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. A Rosary Services will be held at 6:00 pm. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
