Marian T. Heitman-Bartels

Marian Theresa Heitman-Bartels, 94, of Red Wing, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born April 9, 1913 in Lake City to William and Theresa (Berg) Eggenberger and attended school there. On May 11, 1929, she married Edwin Heitman and they lived in Lake City until moving to Red Wing 1942. Edwin died Feb. 1, 1989. She later married Edward Bartels in October of 1990 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. He died September 30, 1993. A member of St. John's Lutheran Church, she enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by 5 children, Evelyn (Wilson) Wheeler of Alta Loma, Calif., Covell (Karen) Heitman of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Rodney Heitman of St. Paul, Roger (Sara) Heitman of Red Wing and Judy (Jim) Ryan of Pine City, Minn.; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son, William Heitman, 2 granddaughters; 2 sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with a memorial service at 7 p.m. with Reverend Todd Engel officiating.
