Marian Franklin

February 1, 1924 — January 16, 2013

Marian Katherine Franklin, 88, Goodhue, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. She was born February 1, 1924 in Oronoco, Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Pauline (Woitte) Glabe. She was a 1941 graduate of Red Wing High School. She married Orville Franklin on October 14, 1950 in Red Wing and she worked at the Cannonball Restaurant and was a homemaker. Orville died December 11, 2002. She was a member of St. Columbkill Catholic Church in Belle Creek and of the Belle Creek Country Belles. Marian was a very kind and considerate person and a wonderful homemaker.

Survivors include four children, Nancy (John) Thorp of Wyoming, Minnesota, Dan (Suzanne) Franklin of Cannon Falls, Pat Franklin of Goodhue and Connie (Pat) Brookshaw of Hager City, Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orville, one son, Wayne Dearman and one brother, Paul Glabe.

Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Columbkill Catholic Church, Belle Creek with Father Fernando Ortega officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
