Obituary Notice Margie Amelia Plaas Margie Amelia Plaas, 90, of Red Wing, MN, died Friday, April 21, 2006, at Mesa General Hospital in Mesa, AZ. She was born October 31, 1915, in Belt, MT, to Fred and Alma (Peterson) Potts. She was a 1933 graduate of Maiden Rock High School. She worked at the Lane Hotel in Ellsworth and also cooked at restaurants for several years. While working at the Red Wing Creamery for three years she met Leslie Plaas. They were married July 10, 1948, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Wing. The two owned and operated the Main Cafe in Red Wing for several years. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, going to flea markets, and making award winning pies. Survivors include daughter Judi Emberton of Ruidoso, NM; two sons Frederick (Beckie) Plaas of Red Wing, MN, Michael Plaas of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Leslie Plaas; two sisters Emma Renolds and Gertrude Halls; two brothers Fred and Jim Potts. Service will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 28, 2006 at St. John?s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Loren Lucht officiating. Pallbearers will be Allicia, McCabe, Taite, Kailen, and Dustin Plaas, Jay Emberton, Joshua Faust. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the time of service Friday at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Homes, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, is handling arrangements.
