Margie Lucille Hanson, 94, of Red Wing, died Thursday morning, January 25, 2007 at Fairview Seminary Home. She was born on January 15, 1913 in Hager City, Wisconsin to Claude and Anna (Dahl) Nelson. She attended rural schools near Hager City. On June 23, 1934 she was married to Russell Hanson and they lived in Red Wing. He died on August 27, 1981. For the past six years she has resided at the Fairview Seminary Home. She enjoyed baking, going to the cabin at Apple River, reading and playing bingo at the nursing home. Her family remembers her love and kindness she showed each of them. Survivors include three children, Bev (Dean) Massett, Neil (Wendy) Hanson and Jean (Bob) Simanski all of Red Wing; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Lindstrom of Diamond Bluff and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Bonita Nelson and Betty Truttmann; one brother, Bernard Nelson and one grandson, Sean Kelly. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007, at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Randall Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Covenant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim and Brent Hanson, Brad Swanson, Dan Massett, Greg Simanski and Jim Kelly. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Fairview Seminary Home or United Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
