OBITUARY NOTICE
MARGARETE E. LUBACH SCHNEIDER
Margarete E. Lubach Schneider, 87, Red Wing, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born January 30, 1920 in Berlin Steglitze, Germany, the daughter of Kaufmann Ludwig Kurt and Elizabeth Margarete (Stander) Lubach. She was schooled in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1954, moving to Ellsworth and then to Red Wing. She worked at Red Wing Shoe until her retirement. She married Werner Schneider in 1978 in Red Wing. She was very active in the local German community. She enjoyed music, theatre and the Music in the Park Concert Series.
Survivors include her husband, Werner of Red Wing; one daughter, Gabriele R. (John H. Broihahn) Lubach of Madison, Wis; one sister, Ruth (Joe) McCusker of Red Wing; one nephew, Peter McCusker. She was preceded in death by her brother, Hans Lubach.
Funeral will be 11 a. m. Saturday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Gary Elg officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p. m. Friday and on Saturday for one hour prior to the service, all at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to CARE USA.
