ROCHESTER Margaret Traxler, 67, of Rochester, died Wednesday (March 9, 2011) at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Margaret Mae Deobald was born Sept. 17, 1943 in Bremerton, Washington to Clayton and Alice (Greer) Deobald. She moved to Minnesota in 1950, was raised in Rochester, and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1962. In 1965 she married Keith Traxler in Rochester, the couple lived in Carver, MN before they were divorced. Margaret moved back to Rochester, and in 1975 she went to work for St. Mary's Hospital where she was a longtime Unit Secretary at the Genrose Building, retiring in 2007. Margaret was a volunteer for Channel One and Bethesda Upscale Resale. She enjoyed spending summers at Lake City, MN on Lake Pepin, reading, and traveling.
Survivors include her son Leonard (LeahRae) Traxler of Belle Plaine, MN; her grandson Theodore "Teddy"; and two brothers Michael (Diane) Deobald of Lake City; and Carl (Connie) of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her son Leslie, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at Noon on Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel with the Rev. Charles Ortloff of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service, and a reception will be held following the service at the funeral home.
