OBITUARY: Margaret Standfield
Funeral services for Margaret Standfield will be on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 2PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home � Mahler Chapel in Pine Island. Reverend Kip Groettum will officiate. Casketbearers will be Steve Krause, Roger Krause, Donald Peterson, Donald Krause, Dan Borgschatz and Doug Andrist. Burial will follow in the Pine Island Cemetery.
Margaret, age 90, of Pine Island died on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester. She was born Margarette Ida Krause on August 3, 1917 in Pine Island Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota to Emil and Mary (Augustine) Krause. She attended country school and farmed with her family. On March 14, 1936 she married Archie Standfield in Pine Island. Following their marriage, the couple moved into Pine Island and Margaret worked as a waitress in numerous cafes around the area. She later worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester in the laundry. She retired after working there 12 years. Archie died on July 31, 1996. Margaret enjoyed babysitting and loved being around children. She was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons: David Standfield, of Beloit, WI, and Allen (Jeannie) Standfield, of Whitewater, WI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Marion Overland, of Pine Island, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers: Harley and Edward.
There will be NO visitation before the service on Friday.
