Margaret Pruter age 91 of Lake City passed away April 1, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Wabasha.
Margaret was born April 27, 1916 in Cottage Grove, MN to Fred & Vera (Radke) Niemann. She attended country schools in the Cottage Grove area. Margaret graduated from the Minnesota School of Agriculture in 1939. She married Arnold Pruter September 14, 1943 in Cottage Grove, MN. After they were married they farmed on his family farm in Lake Township. Arnold passed away March 6, 2003. Margaret was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Margaret is survived by two sons, Eugene (Luena) Pruter of Winona, Ralph of Lake City; a daughter Joyce Heimer of Lake City; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; a sister, Emily Hartung of St. Paul, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son John; Infant granddaughter Rhonda Pruter; brother, Fred Niemann & sister, Josephine Niemann.
Funeral Services will be Friday at 2:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Scott Carmichael & Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church.
Pallbearers: Eugene Pruter, Ralph Pruter, Steven Pruter, William McElmury, Steven O'Brien, Sean O'Brien.
