Margaret Ruth Price, age 59, of Red Wing, died Friday, January 4, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born on August 4, 1948, in Cudahy, Wisconsin, to Walter and Linda (Schlueter) Goelz. She was a 1966 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee and attended Dr. Martin Luther College for one year. She lived with her sister in Texas for a year prior to marrying Gary Price on April 6, 1969, in Cudahy. He served in the military in Vietnam and she moved with her family to Montana. She and Gary moved to Goodhue in 1971, lived in Colorado for four years, and moved to Red Wing in 1978. She worked as an inspector at Jostens for twenty-five years until they closed. She then worked at Treasure Island as a receptionist. She also worked as seamstress sewing clothing and doing wedding dress alterations. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and the choir; and she was a past member of the Rotary Club. She and her husband have been host parents for over twenty foreign exchange students. She enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, interior decorating, collecting dolls and writing poetry.
Survivors include her husband, Gary of Red Wing; four children, Lora Price of Red Wing, Amanda Price of Red Wing, Martha Jacobs of Bloomington and Matthew (Kimberly) Price of Farmington; eight grandchildren, Jared, Tarryn, Tianna, Kayla, Elizabeth, Reece, Riley and Mira; one brother, Robert (Carole) Goelz of Muskego Dam, Wis.; two sisters, Dorothy Hopman of Red Wing and Alice Danell of Red Wing; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four sisters, Ethel Zess, Nancy Layman, Laura Johnson and Paula Harju.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing, with Reverend Todd Engel officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 ? 8 p.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and one hour prior to the time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church.
