Margaret Ann Miley, 72, of Bay City, formerly of Red Wing, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Rochester Methodist Hospital after a short battle with cancer. She was born May 14, 1937 to Alvin Sr. and Beulah (Pigg) Miley. She was raised by her grandparents, Harry and Anna Pigg. She graduated from Milan High School in Milan, Missouri. She worked at Banquet Foods until moving to Red Wing 1981. She worked at Larry's Broiler, Jordan Towers in HRA where she received her broilers license, then in home healthcare for Pierce County and Semsil Inc. and for the city of Red Wing where she did maintenance work for Goodhue County Law Enforcement up until she became ill in July. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and her hobby farm, which included raising all animals.
She is survived by three children, Leonard ( and his companion Wendy) Sears of Baraboo, Wisconsin, Bernard (Irene) Sears of Auburn, Maine, and Rebecca Bru (James Mann) of Red Wing; six grandchildren, Melanie Sears, Dustin and Richard Bru, Rochelle Wood, Philip Sears, and Gabe Sears; two great-grandchildren, Sophia Wood and Sebastian Sears; brother, Alvin (Phyllis) Miley Jr. of Yuma, Arizona; special companion, Carlton Cousins of Frederick, Wisconsin, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Don Mikitta officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Sullivan County, Missouri at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
