Margaret "Margie" Marie Marquardt

Margaret Marie "Margie" Marquardt, 90, of Bay City, died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Red Wing. She was born March 20, 1927, in New Brighton, Minn. to Charles and Mary (Swies) Gardas.
Her family moved to Trenton Island in 1931 where she lived for 65 years until moving to Bay City in 1996. On January 19, 1956 she married Melburne Marquardt at United Lutheran Church. They owned and operated Mary's Supper Club with Don and Marian Gardas where she worked for many years. Melburne died on December 13, 1996. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church and Bay City American Legion Auxiliary for 69 years.
She is survived by two sons, Mike and Jeff Marquardt both of Bay City and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melburne; sister Alice Hutchson and three brothers, Cashmere, Donald, and Leonard Gardas.
Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the United Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Spring burial will be at Trenton Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to United Lutheran Church. Online condolences for the family can be left at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
