Margaret Hildegard Mohs was born October 4, 1938 in Cold Spring, Minnesota, the daughter of Nicholous and Geneva (Van Kempen) Mohs. Raised in Cold Spring and then Kelliher, she was a graduate of the public schools there. She began work as a nanny in Minneapolis, and then became a nurses' aide at University Hospital in Minneapolis. Moving to Southern California, she worked at Behrens Hospital in Glendale, then worked for a time at Capitol Records. She then returned to health care and worked at the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital. She married Roy Larson on July 3, 1965 at Hollywood Lutheran Church in North Hollywood, California. The couple returned to Minnesota, and Mrs. Larson began working for the clinic in Pine Island, which eventually became a branch location for the Olmsted Medical Group. After retiring from her career as a nurses' aide, she worked at Dayton's at the Apache Mall in Rochester, and then Carson-Pirie-Scott at the Miracle Mile.

Margaret enthusiastically engaged in her community, her church, and especially her family. She loved gardening, and was known for her bountiful raspberries. She loved baking and quilting. Her faith as a Christian was strong and she was very active at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a member. She volunteered at her grandkids' schools, loved family gatherings and activities, and she cherished her grandchildren and spending time with them. In addition to her church, she was a member of the Pine Island Lions' Club, the Pine Haven Nursing Home Auxiliary, One Voice at Mayo Clinic, and the Rochester Coronary Club. In recent years, she was her husband's chauffeur due to his degenerating eyesight.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roy Larson of Pine Island; two daughters, Suzette (Charles) McDonald of Chatfield, and Yvonne (Jason) Smith of Kasson; three grandchildren, Alec Smith, Keyan Smith, and Gracie Smith; three brothers, Nick (Jeanie) Mohs of Cañon City, Colorado, Ralph (Connie) Mohs of Plymouth, Minnesota, and Michael (Kathy) Mohs of Champlin, Minnesota; and two sisters, Theresa (Kenneth) Snitker of Blairstown, Iowa, and Francis (Robert) Kuha of Blaine, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Bronczyk, and Laura Martini; and two brothers, Stephen Mohs, and John Mohs.
