A memorial mass for Margaret Keane of Pine Island will be on at 11 AM on Monday, December 1, 2008 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Pine Island with Father Tim Dolan officiating. Honorary casketbearers will be Dorothy Edstrom, Nancy Rundquist, Judd Hanson, Eric Hanson, Scott Schiesser, Kim Enerson, Jane Jasperson, Steve Schiesser and Theresa Erickson. Inurnment will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 PM on Sunday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home � Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and one hour preceding services at the church on Monday.

Margaret Keane, age 88, a homemaker and lifelong resident of the Pine Island area, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at her home. She was born Margaret Luella Schiesser on November 6, 1920 in Milton Township, Dodge County, MN to Charles J. and Mabel (Court) Schiesser. She worked at the Methodist Hospital for a time and for Northwest Airlines "Config Center" on B-24 planes during World War II.

On March 13, 1946, she married Raymond "Bud" Keane and they farmed on the Keane family farm for thirty years. Mr. Keane died on April 24, 1976.

Margaret was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael's Cemetery Committee, Charles Cowden American Legion Post # 184 Auxiliary, Pine Island Sharing Shelves and a longtime volunteer at the Pine Haven Nursing Home.

Margaret is survived by one son, Thomas Keane of Mahnomen; one daughter, Betsy (Ken) Owen of Pine Island; six grandchildren: Jennifer Walter, Leslie Owen, Scott Owen, Shannon Hansen, Tara Keane and Rae Ellen Wienk; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters: Charlene (Duane) Hanson of Zumbrota and Barb Enerson of Pine Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mabel, her husband, Raymond, one sister, Elrose and two brothers: Milo and Russell.

The family suggests memorials to Mayo Cancer Research.
