Margaret Nettie Johnson, age 82, of Maiden Rock, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at her home. She was born on July 14, 1925, in Rushford, Minnesota, to Edward and Anna (Jens) Simonson. She attended school in Red Wing. On February 14, 1944, she was married to William Johnson at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She received her GED and then her LPN degree from Red Wing Vocational Technical College. She worked for Haven Homes nursing home and for Vasa Children's Home for about twenty-two years retiring in the late 1980's. She enjoyed bird feeding and watching, flowers and gardening. She and her husband enjoyed Sunday drives and riding along with their son as he drove semi trailer.

Survivors include her husband of Maiden Rock; six children, Charlene Echolm of Hager City, DuWayne (Lori) Johnson of Bay City, Dennis R. (Helen) Johnson of Lake City, Neil (Sandy) Johnson of Hager City, Joleen (Jim) Rigelman of Maiden Rock and Keith (Heidi) Johnson of Maiden Rock; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Holstrom of Bloomington, Ruby (Donald ) Scott of Red Wing and Eleanor (David) Powers of Black River Falls. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Dean and Tracy Johnson; brother, Emil Simonson; an infant sister, iris; grandchildren, Theresa Johnson, Michelle Zimmer and infant baby boys; great-grandchildren, Haylee Zimmer and Damien Bloomstrom.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hartland Methodist Church with Reverend Shelley Lyksett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daryl Echolm, DuWayne Johnson, Jr., Robert Johnson, Travis Johnson, Andy Purfeerst and Nicholas Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Trenton Peterson, Darren Echolm, Scott Johnson, Dana Johnson, Benjamin Johnson and Wade Wasvick. Visitation will be from 4 ? 7 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the time of services Friday at the church.
