Margaret Ann Du Ren

Margaret Ann Du Ren, 81, of Red Wing, died Friday, October 25, 2019 at Deer Crest. She was born July 6, 1938 in Shawano, Wisconsin to Ferdinand and Charlotte (Petersen) Wedde. She grew up in rural Wisconsin on her family's farm. She married George Allen Bates in 1956 and the couple moved to New York and had three children. The couple later divorced. While in New York, Margaret worked as a hair dresser at Macy's Department store. In 1977 she married John Du Ren and the couple moved back to the Midwest where they had one daughter. After receiving her administrative certificate, she worked with her sister in Milwaukee before returning to Red Wing. There she worked The Salvation Army and later, for Xcel energy until her retirement in 2001. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the IBEW, Local 949. Marge loved crafting and was a talented painter. She enjoyed reading, listening to all kinds of music, and having a good cup of coffee. Most of all she loved her family and her pets.
She is survived by her four children, Sheri (William) Detlefsen of Lake City, Laura (Rowdy) Bundy of Red Wing, Sean (Jeri) Du Ren of Hager City and Michelle (Mark Muenzhuber) Du Ren of Lake City; one step-son, Richard Du Ren; 11 grandchildren; Nicole, Amanda, Jeff, Wayne, Jason, Hunter, Tyler, Rowdy Jr., Melissa, Eric and Ron "Budah"; three step-grandchildren, Dan, Kenny and Caryn; 6 great-grandchildren, Kylah, Brisa, Willie, Isabella, Kenny and Marshall; one step-great-grandson, Hunter; two brothers, Ferdinand (Janine) and Michael (Maryann) Wedde; two sisters-in-law, Elvera and Evelyn.
She is preceded in death by her grandson, Kirk; four siblings, Donald, Joyce Loveless, Peter and infant brother, Tim; as well as her ex-husband, John.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
