Margaret Comstock

Margaret Doris Comstock, 86, Red Wing, died Tuesday morning at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center. She was born in Goodhue County on October 23, 1921, the daughter of J. H. and Mary (Huneke) Mahoney. She was a graduate of Red Wing High School and then attended Lee's School of Beauty. She married Thomas Allyn Comstock on April 26, 1943. They owned and operated Comstock Garden Greenhouse until 1980. He died June 8, 2006. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling and doing volunteer work.

Survivors include three daughters: Carolyn (Lyle) Wichman of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Susan Comstock of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Colleen (Douglas) Hill of Gypsum, Colorado; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Mary Lou Stock of Cape Coral, Florida and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; three brothers, Patrick Mahoney, Felix Mahoney and Jerry Mahoney; one sister, Florence Payne and one grandson.

Memorial service will be 11 a. m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Reverend Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Private burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
