Margaret J. "Peggy" Bissonette, 77, of Shorewood Place in Rochester, died Monday (Dec. 9, 2013) at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Margaret Jean Hund was born May 17, 1936 in Mankato, MN to Harrison and Eloise (Mullen) Hund. She graduated from Mankato West High School in 1954. On Oct. 8, 1955 she married Bernard J. "Bernie" Bissonette in Mankato. The couple lived in St. Paul, MN from 1955 until moving to Bloomington, MN in 1960, living there until moving to Fridley, MN in 1972. Peggy worked part-time for Attorney William Tegeder in Golden Valley for many years. She also worked for Forsythe Appraisals, Inc. in Minneapolis and Little Canada, until her retirement after 15 years. The couple lived in Blaine, MN from 2002 to 2005 when they moved to Epiphany Assisted Living in Coon Rapids, MN. The couple spent several winters in Florida with friends, old and new. They moved to Shorewood Place in Rochester in 2009. Peggy was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, crafts, and words with friends. She loved to write letters (actual handwritten letters and notecards) to her grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, daughters, Bonnie Bissonette (Tom Fladland) of Baltimore, MD; and Becky Bissonette of Rochester; sons, Brian of Bemidji, MN; and Robert of Shakopee, MN; five grandchildren, Dominic, Martina, Madison, Theodore, and Alexis; her brother, Charles (Lois) Hund of LaCrescent, MN; sister-in-law, Jessica Noland of Westminster, CO; and best friends, Nancy Orbell of Woodbury, MN; and Marlene Bender of Maple Grove, MN. She was preceded in death by her brother William, and dear friends Ray "Tex" Orbell, and Glenn Bender.
A memorial mass is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday at Pax Christi Church, 4135 18 Ave. N.W., with Rev. Donald P Schmitz officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at church on Friday. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Blue Earth, MN at a later date.
