Marchand "Shanty" Lynner

Marchand Dwain "Shanty" Lynner 86, died Sunday September 4, 2016 at St. Crispin Living Community, Seminary Home peacefully surrounded by family. He was born September 12, 1929 in Red Wing to Milton and Rosella (Mann) Lynner. He attended Red Wing schools. After that he moved on to working for the Red Wing Shoe Company for 40 years where he retired. He married Helen Hobbs on May 1, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. After their marriage they resided in Red Wing where he was a devoted member of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church. He enjoyed cooking, rides through the countryside, and attending Bay City Bomber games; but his favorite time was spent with his family, especially his great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Ahrendt and Connie Jablonske, both of Red Wing; grandchildren, Jesse Ahrendt of Lithia, FL, Andrea (Jason) Nesteby of Sioux Falls, SD, Katie (Tyler) Goering of Red Wing, and Eric Jablonske (Marissa McGuire) of Red Wing; great-grandchildren, Isaac Nesteby, Cameron Jablonske, Kylan and Bowen Goering, and Autumn Wellen; son-in-law, Scott Jablonske; sister, Lavonne (Alvin) Sieg of Eau Clair, WI; brothers, Royce (Linda) Lynner of Red Wing, and Darwin Lynner of Prescott, WI. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; mother and father; and son-in-law, Doug Ahrendt.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend David Baker officiating. Burial will in the Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
