Marcella "Marcy" Theresa Burt

Marcella Theresa Burt, 85, of Rochester, passed away December 22, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Marcella was born June 3, 1936 near Bellechester, MN to George and Leona (Fuhrman) Hofschulte. She grew up in Mazeppa. She worked many years at IBM and retired in 1987. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, she also enjoyed putting puzzles together and solving crossword puzzles.

Marcella is survived by daughter Julie (David) Stolp of Oronoco; 6 grandchildren Ellin Arett; Emalie Kubista; Grace Weis; Brad, Conner and Jennifer Cummings; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Irene Schultz of Rochester; brothers, Howard (Judy) Hofschulte of Mazeppa, Leonard (Gloria) Hofschulte of Lake City. Family friend Joan Paul of Owatonna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Cummings; parents George and Leona Hofschulte; brothers Francis and Donald Hofschulte, and sisters Rita Zimmermann and Doreen Pahl.

Per Marcella’s wishes no services are planned. A private family burial will take place on a later date at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Mayo Clinic for Aneurysm Research.
