Marcella E. "Sally" Schreader, age 96 of Mazeppa passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Zumbrota Health Services. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date in Oronoco Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marcella Esther "Sally" Klindworth was born on September 23, 1922 in Chester Township, Wabasha County, MN to John and Emma (Weich) Klindworth. Sally grew up on the farm and graduated from District 100 Country School. Sally helped on the farm and later worked for Durkee-Atwood Co. in Red Wing. On September 22, 1946 she married Donald A. Schreader at St. John's Lutheran Church - Bear Valley Parsonage. They made their home on the Schreader Family Farm and together they farmed until retiring in 1980. Sally and Don enjoyed many years as snowbirds in Texas and Arizona. Sally also enjoyed gardening and canning, embroidering, cooking and baking, camping and fishing and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sally was a member of the Social Club, Women's Improvement Club and St. John's Lutheran Church where she was active as a Sunday school teacher and in the ladies aid.
Sally is survived by her husband of 72 ½ years, Donald; son, James (Jeannie) Schreader of Mazeppa; daughter, Judy (Gerald) Liffrig of Hastings; grandchildren, Tara (Mark) Young, Matthew (Nicole) Liffrig, Laura (Brian) Danielson and Kevin (Anezka) Schreader; great-grandchildren, Jake and Camden Young, Hailey and Addison Danielson and Remington Liffrig and brother, Milford "Pete" (Donna) Klindworth of Lake City and many nieces and nephews.
Sally was preceded in death by her siblings, Paulina Henrichs, Elda Haglund, Leonard and Edward Klindworth, Erna Hinrichs, Verna Klindworth, Evelyn Holst, Lorna Diercks and Marlyn Klindworth.
Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church or Donor's choice.
