Marcella Hinrichs

Marcella Elaine Hinrichs, 81, of Red Wing died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at her residence at St. Crispin Living Community Hi Park. She was born November 19, 1934 in Cannon Falls to Lewis and Mae (Ohnstad) Strand. She attended school and graduated from Cannon Falls High School. She worked for a few years in Minneapolis and at Citizens Security. She married Curt Hinrichs on November 9, 1957. They farmed in Featherstone Township and she also worked for several years at Old Fashioned Foods. Marcie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was active in circle and helping with funeral luncheons. She was also a member of the Featherstone Prairie Bells. She was extremely proud of her Norwegian heritage and enjoyed Norwegian jokes, lutefisk and lefse. She enjoyed sewing table runners and wall hangings, canning and maintaining her many flower beds. Marcie was a big fan of Elvis.

Marcie is survived by her five children, Deb Lexvold of Zumbrota, Craig (Becky) Hinrichs of Red Wing, Gary (Laurie) Hinrichs of Red Wing, John (Crystal) Hinrichs of Maiden Rock, and Wayne Hinrichs of Red Wing; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Johnson of Cannon Falls and Harriett Flaaen of Faribault and one brother, Sid (Bonnie) Strand of Alexandria and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Reverend Kristin Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials preferred to Heartland Hospice or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
