Mae Doris Johnson

Mae Doris Johnson, 79, of Red Wing, died Friday, November 14, 2008, surrounded by family at Fairview Seminary Home in Red Wing. She was born on June 11, 1929, in Red Wing to Luke and Anna (Westerberg) Nash. She attended Red Wing Schools and then worked at Red Wing Shoe Company. On November 21, 1947, she married Fritz Johnson at First Covenant Church in Red Wing. She then worked a few years in the kitchen at the Seminary Home. Fritz died on May 17, 2000. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and she enjoyed doing cross-stitch, cooking and spending time with family

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela (Gary) Thom of Beldenville, Wisconsin; one son, Gary (Darlene) Jacobson of Sewell, New Jersey; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Jim (Kay) Nash, Dale (Darlene) Nash, Mike (Mary) Nash all of Red Wing; one sister, Linda (Dick) Brunkhorst of Red Wing and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Cheryl Johnson; three brothers, Larry, Leonard and Luke Nash and five sisters, Ardis Swisher, Gloria Townsend, Janet Nash, Deloris Roth and Lila Plote.

Funeral will be Friday, November 21, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gary Elg officiating. Burial will be in the Burnside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Roth, Karl Bakke, Greg, David, Don and Luke Nash and Tom Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcia Murach, Heather McAbee, Tara Thom, Obie Gosman, Erik and Amanda Jacobson. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
