Madeline Gloria Pearson, 91, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Red Wing. She was born July 8, 1928 in Maiden Rock, Wis. to Maurice and Frances (Carlson) Rose. On July 5, 1952, she married John Pearson at the Little Brown Church in Iowa and they made their home in Welch. In 1974, they moved to Red Wing. She worked at the Red Wing Shoe Co. and later at IRC, retiring in 1991. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed drinking coffee and playing cards with her sister, Bernice. She spent time walking, embroidering, reading and enjoying the flowers. She loved her cat, Lucky and spending the holidays with her family. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Al (Nicole DePalma) Pearson of Hastings, Danny Pearson of Red Wing, Judy (Scott) Harris of Red Wing and Gloria (Nancy Carlson) Pearson of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Amanda, Kate, Bess, Jonathan, Aaron and Eric; great-grandchildren, Jack, Lake, Austin, Alex and Branningan and a sister, Bernice Jensen of Red Wing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; one son, James Pearson; granddaughter, Julia and sisters, Gladys Sundvall and Grace Erickson.
A funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Norelius Chapel at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Arthur Sharot officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the church.
