ORONOCO � Mabel J. Stolp 85, died Sunday (Mar. 29, 2009) at her home in Oronoco, MN. Visitation will be April 5. 2009 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Mahn Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. Services will be held Monday April 6, 2009 11:00 a.m. with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Rochester. Rev.'s William Meiers and Karl Rist will be officiating. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery.
Mabel Johanna Ruesink was born Dec. 29, 1923 on the family farm in Preston, MN. She graduated from Preston High School in 1941. She worked as a Nurses' Aid at two Rochester Hospitals before attending the Winona School of Cosmetology. She then worked as a Beautician in Rochester. On June 11, 1960 she was united in marriage with Dwain V. Stolp at the Greenleafton Reformed Church near Preston, MN. She was a homemaker and mother of two on their farm in Oronoco. Among her many talents, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, handcrafts and the beauty of nature, but most of all baking for her family.
She is preceded by her loving husband, Dwain (3-21-05) and survived by her two sons; Mark (Jaime), and Carl, both of Oronoco; two grandsons, Brian and Craig, and a sister, Elaine (Curtis) Grabau of Rochester.
Memorials are suggested to Hosanna Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
