UPDATED WITH SERVICE TIMES-- Mass of the Resurection for Lynette "Lynn" Sylvia Lindstrom, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 at the Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing, with Father Thomas M. Kommers officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Masks and social distancing are mandatory.
Lynette "Lynn" Sylvia Lindstrom, 88, of Red Wing, MN passed away peacefully, in her sleep, on August 15th, 2020 in Texas.
Lynn was born November 14th, 1931 in Red Wing, MN to Frank and Violet (Anderson) Hallstrom. As a child she attended the MN State Fair with her family to show flowers and participated in the annual Red Wing flower parade; she enjoyed roller skating and ice skating. Lynn attended Red Wing Central High where she played clarinet and saxophone in the marching band; she graduated in 1949. In 1953 she graduated from Winona State Teachers College and started her teaching career in Cedar Rapids, IA. She married Gerald "Sid" Lindstrom June 26th, 1954 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Rectory in Red Wing. They moved to Fullerton, CA before returning to the Midwest and settling in Cedar Rapids, IA. They then returned to Red Wing where Lynn taught at Colvill and Hancock Elementary schools for many years. She was a member of the Gopher Fun trailer club and loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. Lynn retired in 1992 and they embarked on many travel adventures. In 1992 they started to winter in warmer climates and eventually settled in Alamo, Texas at Alamo Paradise Acres park where they made many friends and taught line-dancing.
Lynn was a talented artist who loved to share her talent with others. She loved music, dancing, her Saturday morning coffee klatch and her card club. She was a member of First Covenant Church and later of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Lynn later became a resident at Bridges at Mission in Mission, Texas where she was well-cared for and much loved by the caring team. She was particularly fond of Monica, Yadria, Veronica, and Lina. Sid visited her every day to feed her lunch.
She is survived by her loving husband, Sid, daughters Sheree (Craig) Frazier and JeriLyn (Kevin) Coplan; granddaughters Brandi Rogers, Briana Tresidder, and Kassidy (Marcus) Dodge; and great-grandchildren Nathan, Halle, and Alana. She was welcomed into her eternal home by her parents, infant sister Marjory, infant brother Orville, brother Evan Hallstrom, an infant son Alan, her son Darrell and infant grandson Gerald.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bridges at Mission for the compassionate, professional, and personal care provided to Lynn during her stay.
