Lyle Jay Feenstra, 45, of Bay City, died Friday, October 15, 2010 from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident near Bay City. He was born on July 28, 1965 in Hudson, South Dakota to Jerald and Luella (Klingenburg) Feenstra. He graduated in 1983 from LeMars Community High School and earned a degree at Northwest Iowa Technical College Sheldon, Iowa. He worked for various businesses in the Red Wing area consisting of maintenance engineering and mechanical work. Lyle's most recent employer was Gemini in Cannon Falls, he very much enjoyed working there. He had many hobbies including four wheeling, motorcycling, snowmobiling, boating, skiing, camping, and hiking. He was treasurer for the Borderline 4X4 Trailseekers. Lyle had a passion for cars, whether it was buying, selling, or just fixing them. His favorite pastime was gathering around a bonfire with friends and family.
Survivors include two brothers, Jim (Gloria) Feenstra of Maurice, Iowa and Gary Feenstra of California; two sisters, Sandra (Roger) Hammerstrom of Woodward, Oklahoma and Karla (Alan) Colby of Ackley, Iowa; girl friend, Maria Szenczi and her son Dennis Danielson of Bay City and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
