Luverne M. Reckmann, 94, of Lake City passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Lake City Mayo Health System.
She was born December 17, 1922 in Minneapolis, MN to Ira & Elsie (Wiech) Lamb. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. On September 10, 1941, she married Frederick Reckmann at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City where they farmed in Gillford Township until 1984 when they retired and moved to Lake City. Mrs. Reckmann was a member of Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church and St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, gardening and card playing.
Luverne is survived by two sons, Roger (LaVada) Reckmann of Lake City, Gene (Sally) Reckmann of Zumbro Falls; three daughters, June Hayden of Lake City, Ann (Don) Nasalroad of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Gloria (Leonard) Hofschulte of Lake City; 15 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Lange of Marksan, Wisconsin; and one brother, Don (Mary) Lamb of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederick; a son, Lee; and siblings, twin brothers, Tom and Robert Lamb, brother, Jack Lamb, and two sisters, Catherine Bartels and Beatrice Lamb.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 27th at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Daniel Reich officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 on Monday, at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel of Lake City and one hour before the services at the church.
