Luong Nguyen

Luong Van Nguyen, 66, passed on January 9, 2021 at St. Marys Hospital.

He was born in Hanoi Vietnam on April 3, 1954 to Xinh and Hue Nguyen.

Luong came to the United States in 1988 to Fort Worth, TX with his two children. His late wife passed in 1989.

He moved to Rochester in 1989 and earned his welding and carpentry trade certificates from Red Wing Tech. He worked for McNeilus for over 20 years before retiring. Luong later married Lien Tran.

He loved playing volleyball and was a wonderful musician that could play many instruments. Luong was a very kind, generous, and forgiving man that would help all who needed it. Luong had a strong devotion to God and was part of the Catholic community back in Vietnam and a member at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester.

He is survived by his wife, Lien Tran; children, Henry Nguyen, Ashley Seyfried, Thanh Tong, Randy Tong, Bruce Tong, and Hanh Tong.

He is preceded in death by his late wife, and 3 children.

Mass will be held at Pax Christi Catholic Church on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at 11am with 1 hour of visitation prior.

Visitation will be held at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.

Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights following the service.
