Luella E. Stehr

Luella Stehr, 90, of Lake City, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at the Lake City Medial Center Mayo Health System. She was born December 17, 1919 in Albert Lea to Herman and Emma (Wolff) Will. She attended schools in Freeborn County. Luella was married to Herbert Stehr on June 22, 1948 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Myrtle, Minnesota. The couple farmed together in Chester Township where Luella took care of laying hens for many years. Herbert died May 3, 2006. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City, teaching Sunday School for 19 years and serving as an organist for 11 years. Luella enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and quilting.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Stehr of Burnsville, Jean (Bob) Wise of River Falls, and Julie Stehr of Burnsville; two sons, Neil (Corrine) Stehr of Lake City and Paul Stehr of Lake City; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and a sister, Melba (Bernard) Meinke of Myrtle. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; brother, Erdman Will, and one granddaughter, Kelly.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9 at Bethany Lutheran Church with Reverend Merle Lebahn officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Chester Township. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
