Lucinda Ellen Brown
January 24th, 1950 - March 14th, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lucinda "Cindy" Brown, who left this world on March 14th, 2025, after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
Lucinda was born on January 24th, 1950, in Wabasha, MN, to Douglas and Dorothy (Welp) Brown. She graduated from Wabasha High School in 1968 and attended Winona State University, where she earned her Master's Degree in Education. After graduation, Lucinda dedicated her career to teaching, spending 44 years as a third-grade teacher at Bluff View Elementary before retiring in 2016.
On June 18th, 1976, she married David Prigge, and together they raised two children.
Lucinda built a life rooted in love, faith, and community. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, cherishing her family above all else. Her warmth, generosity, and infectious laughter touched the lives of everyone who knew her. To her children and grandchildren, she was a guiding light, their biggest fan, and their source of endless love.
Lucinda is survived by her two children, Sara (Joshua) Leonhardt of Center City, MN, and Jonathan Prigge of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Noah, Mackenzie, Ellie, and Avery Leonhardt, and Isabel Prigge; her brother, Douglas (Laurie) Brown; her significant other, Timothy Herzig; and his children, Brandon (Jessica) Herzig and Holly (AJ) Mack, along with their children, Corbin and Lottie Herzig and Quinn Mack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Dorothy Brown.
Lucinda's love and spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Peter's Memorial, a local non-profit that "Spread love" to local communities and hospitals for people affected by cancer.
