Lucille Inez Parker, 89, of Red Wing, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at her home. She was born January 10, 1925 in Red Wing to Frederick and Fredricka (Wolpers) Behrens. She attended school in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School. On April 14, 1945 she married Thomas Parker. In 1951 they built their home on West Avenue where they resided until their deaths. Tom and Lucille founded Tom Parker Electric in 1973 and Lucille was active in the company until her passing. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph. Lucille enjoyed Wednesday evening supper with her family, outdoor activities and visiting with family and friends on her deck. Her family recalls how she enjoyed tending to her trees and flowers and the simple things in life.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Dwyer of Boxford, Mass., John (Nani) Parker of Red Wing, Samuel (Sue) Parker of Red Wing, Thomas (Debi) Parker of Golden Valley and George (Kay) Parker of Red Wing; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom on December 16, 2005; son William in 2004; infant son James and infant daughter, Mary Catherine; six siblings, Raymond Behrens, Angeline Weber, Marian Parmeter, Dorothy Ham, Donald Behrens and Mildred Hoffman.
Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred to Red Wing Hospice or donor's choice. Arrangements with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
