- The funeral for Lucille E. Origer will be 7:00 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Rochester Chapel with Rev. Steven Schauder of Holy Cross Lutheran Church officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service on Friday. A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at East Side Cemetery in Estherville, Iowa.
Mrs. Origer, age 94, of Rochester, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Golden Living Center East in Rochester where she had resided since November of 2006.
Lucille Evelyn Spoo was born Nov. 15, 1920 in Estherville, to Chris and Martha (Meyer) Spoo. She graduated from Maple Hill high school in 1938. On Oct. 22, 1939 she married Francis Donald Origer in Fairmont, MN. The couple farmed in the Gruver area until 1952 when they moved to Estherville, Iowa until moving to the Rochester area Oct. 19, 1955.
Lucille was a charter member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, was active in the Ladies Aid, the Couples Club, the LWML, and the Altar Society. She belonged to the same Bible Study group for 25 years.
Survivors include two sons, Terry of Northfield, MN; and Dennis (Darlene) of St. Cloud, MN; two grandchildren, David (Mimi) Origer of Kokomo, IN; and Denise (Todd) Lorentz of Sauk Rapids, MN; four great grandchildren, Isabelle and Abigail Origer, and Paige and Brooke Lorentz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis who died Aug. 5, 2005, three sisters, and three brothers.
Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
