On August 28, 1947 Lucille married Lawrence Miller of Bellechester at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cherry Grove Township. They made their home near Roscoe and farmed, before moving to rural Bellechester where they farmed and raised five children. After the children were grown up, she substitute taught at St. Mary's School in Bellechester, and CCD for a number of years. She substitute taught at Lake City Grade School and worked at the Group Home in Red Wing, as well as Josten's. Lucille held offices in the Catholic Daughters; St. Mary's Altar Society and was a lector at St. Mary's Church. Lucille and Larry were 4-H leaders for the Bellechester 4-H Club for a number of years. Lucille had varied interests, including crossword puzzles, refinishing furniture and taking writing classes at the Villa Maria. She also was a gardener and a quilt maker, hosting family and friend quilting bees numerous times. Lucille was an avid bird watcher, always having bird feeders close to the window. She got involved with the Friends of St. Rose of Lima, by supplying pictures and information on the church history. Her passion was teaching.
