Lucille "Lucy" Frawley passed away on March 23, 2025 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Red Wing, MN surrounded by family. Lucille Frawley was born December 6, 1933, in Richland County, the daughter of John and Gale B. (Plank) Studnicka of Muscoda, Wisconsin. She grew up on the family farm with her five siblings. As a young woman, she worked for Doctor and Mrs. Paul McGargle in Muscoda, as a housekeeper, babysitter, and assistant to the doctor on occasions.
In the spring of 1958, she needed to mow the grass at Docs so headed to the Standard Station for gas and to see its grand opening because they were giving away flashlights. She got the gas, the flashlight and fell in love with Norbert who ran the Standard Station. She married Norbert Frawley on December 29, 1959. They later sold the station and moved to Dubuque. In 1961 they moved to the farm on which Lucy lived for 63 years. Lucy spent her last year living with her daughter in Minnesota. She attended the Catholic Church and made many more friends who loved her smile and charming personality. Lucy was an avid gardener, member of St. Philips Catholic Church where she cleaned the church, taught religious education and was active in the Rosary Society, PCCW. She volunteered for funerals and church dinners and was well known as the best maker of coffee at these events. She was a strong farm woman who milked cows, raised chickens, kept honeybees, drove tractor and helped with all parts of farming. She also worked off the farm cleaning the country house for Lands End owner Gary Comer.
Survivors include 4 children, John (Laurie) Frawley of Soldiers Grove, James (Paula) Frawley of New Albin, Iowa, Janet (Bradley) Richardson of Soldiers Grove, and Joan (Steven) Welscher of Goodhue, MN; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren, with the 19th on the way. Her brothers and sisters: Harold Studnicka of Richland Center, James (Mary) Studnicka of Richland Center, Joyce (Larry) Robinson of Muscoda, Lester (Nancy) Studnicka of Richland Center and many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Norbert, January 9, 2012; one unborn child; sister, Beverly A. Berry; brother-in-law, Lyle Berry; three infant brothers; sister in laws, JoEllen Studnicka, Helen Schlick, Marge Slaney; brother in laws, Bernard Frawley, Paul Frawley, and Jerome Frawley.
Funeral will be at 11:00 am on Monday, March 31, 2025, at St. Philip Catholic Church, 42678 Church Rd, Soldiers Grove, WI. Visitation two hours prior to the funeral, Rosary will be said at 8:30 am.
