Lucille Guest

Lucille Guest, 88, of Ellsworth, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Prescott Health and Rehabilitation Center in Prescott. She was born on September 12, 1936, in River Falls the daughter of Ethel (Johnson) and Stirl Helmer. Growing up Lucille worked with her dad on the family farm. Lucille began her working career off the farm at Lloyd Endru’s Café in Ellsworth as a waitress where she met George Guest. Lucille married George, the love of her life, on September 17, 1954, and began their life together working and raising a family on the Guest family farm. Lucille had a 30 plus year career in the health care field at the Piety Place and Ellsworth Care Center. She had a true passion of taking care of others.

Lucille enjoyed being a farmer’s wife, worked hand in hand with her husband to maintain their milking process while also canning, baking and cooking farm fresh meals. Her flower garden and vegetable gardens were always beautiful and a source of pride for Lucille.

Lucille enjoyed to dance and taught her children how to polka and waltz – wonderful memories for them. There were many holidays and special occasions celebrated in the Guest home. Lucille spent many vacations, traveling with her family and grandchildren to Vail, Colorado and the Ozarks. She enjoyed the fall trips to Duluth with her daughter, Lorie. Her favorite trip was going to Hawaii.

Lucille is survived by her three children, Linda (Mike) Roth, Lorie (Mike Becker) Larson and Ed Guest; two granddaughters; five great grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George on April 15, 1996; one brother, Edwin and son-in-law, Kenneth Larson along with many in-laws.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Ellsworth Chapel. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

The family extends a grateful thank you for the support and wonderful care by St. Croix Hospice and Prescott Health and Rehabilitation Center. Linda and Lorie would also like to extend a huge thank you to Ed for the wonderful care he gave to our mother the last few years.
