Lorraine Lenora Wallin, 91, of Red Wing and formerly of Stockholm, Wisconsin, died Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park in Red Wing. Lorraine was born on April 20, 1921 in Stockholm, Wisconsin to Edward and Ellen (Sundvall) Weberg. She grew up on the family farm and attended the local Sabylund rural school. She was confirmed at the Moravian Church in Stockholm. She later taught Sunday school and was involved in many other church groups and activities throughout the years. She married Vernon Wallin at the Moravian Church on October 23, 1948. Vernon and Lorraine, unable to have children of their own, opened their home and became foster parents. They lived on Lorraine's family farm in Stockholm until 1979 when they moved to Red Wing. While living in Red Wing, Lorraine continued to care for children. She became a neighborhood "Grandma" to many and ran day care out of her home. Vernon died on September 30, 1997. Lorraine kept herself busy volunteering at the Sheldon Theater, Fairview Hospital and for several local charities. She enjoyed working outdoors with the flowers in her gardens. She liked to tell stories, read, write, visit with friends and family and take various bus trips.

She is survived by her foster children, Jerry Wallentine, Douglas McRoberts, Thomas McRoberts, Dan McRoberts, Delrita Bignell and Ann Foster; several nieces and nephews; and family friends, the Siewert family, Todd, Leah, Kyle and Kristie; Donna Kreye; and the Simonson family, Greg, Peggy, Steve and Kimberly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ellen Weberg; her husband, Vernon; four sisters, Myrtle Kiteck, Florence Johnson, Frances Stein and June Weberg; two brothers, Norris and Lloyal Weberg and two foster children Diane McRoberts, and David Wallentine.
